DAMN! He's very lucky he didn't find his eyes laying on his cheeks. Sorry for being graphic but it has happened in those types of barrel rolls. DAMN...that just hurts.

Holy shit. Good thing those red and white barriers are made of soft rubber.

I've played the start of the vid numerous times trying to figure what made him go over. Wish we could see around that corner to get a more clear understanding of this incident. First thought he got over the inside curb at a bad time, but looks like he was well into his first roll in the middle of the track before the apex?? Not sure but it appears he just over cooked the entrance of the corner, got it sideways and gravity took over. To the racer guys here...is that possible/probable with a car like that?

I believe this was DTMs cousin in vacation in Germany. DTM was his instructor in the states.

I think he just lost control and got it sideways. It doesn't take much at those speeds. Brilliantly designed safety system. Dude walked away without a scratch.

Crazy storm last night. Definitely do NOT want an off-track excursion today! Eh, DT? About 18" drop.

Brutal. The track I was on (briefly) yesterday has a similar drop on the outside of a decreasing radius corner and cars are constantly bottoming out on it when they drop a wheel. I am constantly reminding people to stay a little left of optimal just to be safe.

Why briefly? Stupid radiator started leaking. So now I'm replacing my radiator. I do have good and trusting friends though so I got to drive 3 other cars yesterday, and that was fun. A bone stock Miata, a fully built second gen Miata and a Subaru STi something that was all sorts of whirrs and whines and turbos and speed but the brakes weren't really adequate so you couldn't hammer it.

The speed deltas between me and the drivers in the top run group with Chin aren't really that different. Here's me going 100 miles per hour and the nascar cup car just barely gets past me:
