I will be checking B3s tomorrow.

Hatchetf15,
Clean these pipes very well on both sides and take pics of them when cleaned. Then drive until you see a marked difference in their color, then re- shoot and upload the pics.

One of you guys need to start a thread like this on RL too, so we can really get a gauge on how many cars may have this and have not been caught. If I start it, i'll be a fear Monger again. We may be able to save some engines by doing this!
The thread I started on Rennlist(dammit) did not garner much attention and has fallen off of the front page. When I get my car back(too much snow on ground right now!) I will post my tailpipe pics here and on RL to see if it draws anymore participation.

I think that's a good idea. Somehow make it obvious that posting their pics might get their car "evaluated." I am debating posting mine as an example of non-sooty, but only if you think it would add to the conversation.

Do it, please. I think Jake is taking a low profile on this due to some of the snarkiness encountered there. I asked the mods if I could change the title as I chose a bad one, but have not receive a response, yet.

Ok. The thread was created there, now it needs to live or die of it's own accord. Stop talking about it here please.

I know no one here is seeking to cause trouble with that thread, but "coordination" from here to there is frowned upon.

Just trying to share to larger market. No disrespect inferred nor intended. If you have strong feelings about this I can lock that thread.

As I said, I understand there is no malice here and I have no objection to the threads continuing. They just need to each live their separate lives at this point is all.

After 200 miles. New injectors, new AOS, DT40. Engine warm-ups going by Hart’s instructions. When I have a smoking start, bank 2 side 2/3 of those times. No oil use for this 200 miles.

Is you driver side tail pipe blackened? From the looks of the image, it does have a darker black coating compared to the right side.
