Any connector molded in purple plastic is not worthy.

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Oh. The connectors were fine. Better than nice with DB-9 connectors.

I had an actual PS/2. Because IBM thought it was a great idea to build a commodity hardware based system in a manner that you could only use they proprietary hardware.

Dad picked up one super cheap at an auction. We got it home and found that while adding a 10MB hard drive to any other PC was $500, on a PS/2 it was like $1500!

I was the correct age to make the jump from an Apple ][ with an acoustic-coupler modem to an AT clone with an amber monitor. I connected to my first dial-up BBS on that Apple.

We also had one of those "I'm an 80's drug dealer" telephones in the 80's, which was JUST about as cool as those glasses with the lenses that get darker when you go outside.

Terrible things to do to a young man's social life, in retrospect...

You had an Apple ][??? Lucky rich bastard!

My first dialup connection was on a TRS-80 with a 300 baud modem! That connection just happend to be a number for the Pentagon that he neglected to remove before handing it down to me. Hopefully their security is better now than it was then...

Then he got me the ill fated PS/2 and that was quickly replaced by an 8088 that was stylin with a whopping 32k of RAM and dual floppies! Built it up over time with a 10MB hard drive, 512k of RAM, and VGA.

Yeah I didn't have many friends...

Has anyone tried TireBuyer.com? I had not heard of them until about a month ago-someone in our local PCA told me about it. Since I won’t be buying until spring I haven’t bothered to check it out, but it seems to be another online alternative.

I just looked and the only tire they list for a 996tt is the Michelin Pilot Sport PS/2  . Their price for a set is $1,228. Tirerack.com has the same tires for $1,266. Both offer free delivery. But Tirerack.com also offers 6 different tires that will fit my car. Discounttire.com comes in at $1,188 for the same Michelins, also with free shipping, and has 9 different tires for my car (although really 8 because they list the Michelins twice for some reason).

Discounttire.com has become my go-to recently because they offer the same or better prices than tirerack.com and they have a shop 5 blocks from my office.

My C4S was shod with HTR ZIIIs and they were replaced with the updated HTR Z5s in August. I do like the Z5s more than the older model. Not my faves but good bang for the buck and hard to beat at the price. If I was truly performance driving there would be an upgrade but for the street they work really well.

Are they N rated? If not you basically are ruining your car.

I found these naughty Michelins butt sniff'n my 996 after being dropped off by Fedex today. I guess they'll enjoy mounting my wife's tahoe tomorrow morning.
