Thanks guys!

I drove the front bumper and rear deck lid to my favorite pro body shop in Athens. Hopefully I'll have them back before the weekend. They've been great to work with and I'm happy to get these two items resprayed.

Unfortunately, the "glue people" that installed the sound system also glued a K40 radar sensor on the front of the car. As you can imagine... sloppy work. Instead of talking the time and doing things the right way, it appears they got lazy and in a hurry from some of the damage left behind. I don't have a recent, clear picture (I've attached one of the first iphone images I took), but they glued and re-glued the front sensor to the lower air duct/splitter. :x As mentioned before, the air duct was cracked and the center air splitter was scratched up where it was removed and then reattached. That will be replaced along with the air duct.

I'm looking forward to getting it back together before the weekend. I'm long overdue for a spirited ride in the mountains. Therapy my friends! :D

Must have been the same hacks that glued the one into my 996, pulled it all out and no longer had the battery drain :P

Got my bumper cover and rear deck lid back from the body shop and it matched perfectly! yay! Nothing like working with a body/paint shop that knows how to do it right. These people repaired a dent in my last 996 and they blended the paint in so well, it looked like it had a full respray. I couldn't believe they could color match to factory and blend it in so well. I remember as a kid the body shops would have to paint in complete sections or repaint the whole car to make it look right. Even then you could tell a difference from the old and new.

Anyway, here is a pic of putting the bumper skin back on... Whoosh it was easier getting this thing off than putting it back on. I don't remember it being this much trouble getting it reinstalled last time. Oh well.

The deck lid installed...

Now, off for some much needed driving... buh bye!!!!

Well, swapped the relay for the front fan and it still won’t come on at low speeds and so I bought this resistor that doc recommended. It definitely not plug and play. Guess it’s time to bring out the soldering iron. 😬
