Death by Engine Lid

Nope. As mentioned, neither Schnelly nor I have a second strut.

It's probably another one of those cost cuts on the 996. The engineers designed it with 2, but then a bean counter noticed one would hold it up and decided they could save an extra $5/car...

I've got two on my 05 with the standard engine lid i.e. no racer bouy wing. Maybe by late 2004 Porsche got tired of all the decapitation lawsuits, fired the accountant and added an extra strut. Just guessin here...

Isn't the engine cover larger on the 4S and TT? If so that could explain why you have 2.

Or I could be. I seem to recall a thread on Rennlist (dammit) from ages ago where someone wanted to put a factory Aero wing on a 4S and the result was that the lid didn't fit.

Those are being used as a bucket now. No litter in them...now. Hey, cats gotta crap so I make sure to keep the boxes clean so they go where they should.

He's not that big...
