Hey I give them an A for the effort.

Oh, wait, this says F.

Well, thanks for coming to class.

That's really a shame. Think about it... they took a some what valuable Porsche 912 and turned it into a virtually worthless piece of crap. This like... turning a silk purse into a sow's ear! ha!

At least the seller didn't try to pull the old embellished pitch of... "it's an amazing, rare example of Porsche 4 cylinder lawnmower technology mixed with the super fancy 959 body kit. Don't let this opportunity pass you by!!! This is German lawnmower engineering at it's best. Such a sweet example of what embodied the heart of the Porsche racing family" yada yada yada

Almost as bad as when someone hacks 997 lights into a 996

I'm with you. I've always liked the 996 headlights. Yes, it was a radical design, but so was the car. Many people credit the boxster with "saving Porsche from bankruptcy", but actually it was the 996. Ferry Porsche mentioned it, and Pinky Lai mentioned it in a documentary. The 996 was the bridge to the modern day line of 911 cars. Why people feel they need to mask or change the 996 headlight to the 997 style is beyond me. More power to them, but why put a bag over a good thing?

That is impressive - taking the original "poor man's" 911 and making it...poorer.

In their defense, 914's look like crap and 959's look like crap. No harm, no foul

I spotted this "959 Speedster" near my home back in 2014 - I had no idea that it was in fact "best in breed" among counterfeit 959's...
