02 Turbo Tip leak, possible trans or other

Post by nelsontod » Tue Apr 17, 2018 7:59 am

Hey gang, just thought i would throw this out there. I will ultimately be getting a full diagnosis, but thought I would ask for a little insight from the forum members!

I have a leak on my 02 turbo tiptronic. Just wondering what you guys can make of it with the pictures I have provided.

The puddle is after approximately 18 hours. and is under 12 inches wide.

Thank you!

It's hard to tell exactly where this is in the engine. It appears to be the oil cooler? Maybe spray off the external oil and grime, then examine more closely where the leak is coming from. Can you take a wider picture?

Repost some pictures of the car a little wider. Some of the more experienced on this site can assist with their shop manuals.

Just my speculation... this is the tip cooler for the transmission

Ur welcome buddy. I would have commented, but I'm not welcome over there. Just happen to notice the cross threads. ;)

I think he gave up on us KC. :x There should be some sort of penalty for posting a question to a forum and not following up.

So you don't like my B4 idea? I thought it was genius.
And nelsontod will be back, I'm sure. He's actually getting a lot of good help over on RL.
