Rollovers leave almost no marks. Very sturdy. And you can just fold up the airbags and squeeze them back in place.b3freak wrote: ↑Thu Dec 27, 2018 6:57 amBeautiful ride there Cuda! I'm glad you got it all in one piece. Did you check the odometer to make sure the drivers didn't take it for a spin? I see you say it's lower, but after two days of driving, how would you compare the 991 driving characteristics to the 996? I know it's probably apples and oranges, but would be a great write up. When you think about, it's only 7 years between the two platforms.Cuda911 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 11:12 pm Thx! After two days of ownership, I can attest that this is the finest car I have ever driven. Loved my 996. This takes it to the next level!!!
Only problem... with the Sport Suspension it is very low. I need to buy a case of lip spoilers. Can't even get out of my driveway without scraping.
With it being the same color (hundreds of search hours to find this car), it feels like my 996 was given a youth injection.
In my experience, obviously.

You guys clearly never owned an Aero MkI. We still have a brand new chin spoiler that is about 8 years old now that she bought, but I refuse to install given that all it's predecessors lasted maybe a month...02TX996Cab wrote: ↑Thu Dec 27, 2018 4:13 amDitto for my GT4 -- front spoiler lips are a wear item (a $300/ea wear item). It rubs on driveways, speed bumps, road kill, you name it. So far at least I've done only superficial damage, the evidence of which is easily removed with a 100 grit sanding block and a spritz of ArmorAll.
My 996 has none of these issues, which is why it is the most awesome version of the 911 platform.

Yea, I've heard the chin spoilers on the aero front bumpers tend to snag the pavement on dips and rip off. Yikes! Aren't they only held on by rivets and a couple of screws?gnat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 27, 2018 7:02 amYou guys clearly never owned an Aero MkI. Yeah just a few plastic push in clips as I recall. They at least designed it so the thing comes off without damaging the bumper itself.

Cuda, damnit, that's a beautiful car. You're lucky it isn't green of I'd come looking for you. I hope you enjoy it in great health, man.
