PPPFFFFTTT! Kansas doesn't look safe from this angle. Well at least trump yanked Gov. Brownback and the legislature rolled back some of his insane legislation. The Kansas voters did send Kobach to the side lines so there is that positive for Kansas. I did see an article recently that a handful of Republican state representatives switched over to the Democratic party...so maybe I'm wrong about Kansas. Probably not but maybe...FRUNKenstein wrote: ↑Mon Dec 31, 2018 7:59 amWell, actually, I think Kansas is safe from that list, but I was going to put what I claim as my home state (where I grew up) of Missouri. Missouri definitely qualifies to be on that list.
Oh, and BTW, now that the Chiefs have wrapped up home-field advantage in the AFC, you all can watch my Mizzou Tigers demolish the Oklahoma State Cowboys at 2:45 PM CST today in the Liberty Bowl. Should be a high-scoring game, assuming the forecast of rain doesn't screw things up. If it's dry, I'm predicting a 56-28 Mizzou beat down of Okie State.

Holy Crap!
sweet victory wrote: ↑Mon Dec 31, 2018 8:13 amThe largest debacle currently happening in the state is "The Rail." It went from a project with maybe half the state supporting it, to the entire state wanting to burn anyone who ever lobbied for it. The project is being managed by a dofus who basically lied on his resume and has never actually built a rial system before. (Only managed it) The original cost was to be $5.26b, and right now it's nearly a year behind schedule and will cost about $10b. The state has been increasing property taxes and artificially increasing people's home value. The island is small and my dad owns a large industrial facility; him and his buddies seem to be know a lot about the logistics debacle going on behind the scenes. My favorite one is that Hawaiian Electric has publicity stated critical concerns over the project like the improperly designed and built electrical infrastructure (they built the rail right next to power lines...) and that they still don't think they can power the rail.32wildbilly wrote: ↑Mon Dec 31, 2018 7:36 am
Seriously? We haole tourists don't see any of that...just the natural beauty!
Right now the entire city prosecutors office the focus of an FBI corruption probe. Not much has been released yet, but quotes from investigators have been quiet alarming. Everyone from the city prosecutor to high ranking HPD officers are being investigated. The ex chief of police and his wife were indicted on federal charges and arrested earlier this year. http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/3669 ... -a-victim/
While I was home, a guy named Bronson was wanted by the police for attempted murder; it was all over the news. He had shot his girlfriend and she lived. He has over 50 arrests and 22 prior convictions. The most alarming part...his 5 series BMW has a sticker on the back windshield that says "Murder 187".
Never gonna make you cry...

But that's not gonna affect Hawaii Five-Oh, right? I love that show - would hate to see the FBI bring it down. Also, although not a cop, per se, I hope that Magnum PI is safe, too. He seems like a straight shooter. I'd like him better if he traded the Ferrari for a Porsche, of course.

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
I was just writing a blog for my law practice on bankruptcy and divorce (my practice is 80% bankruptcy). So, I dug up some statistics on divorce. Holy shyte! Here are some of the more interesting ones:
Here are some other statistics about divorce in the US:
Every 13 Seconds, someone, somewhere, files for divorce.
50% of children in the US will see their parents divorce in their lifetime
41% of first marriages end in divorce
60% of second marriages end in divorce
73% of third marriages end in divorce
The average first marriage lasts 8 years
You’re more likely to get divorced if:
Your parents went through a divorce
You fight about money with your spouse
You didn’t graduate high school
You marry before age 25
You smoke cigarettes, but your spouse doesn’t
You have a friend going through a divorce
You’re less likely to get divorced if:
You’re very religious
You have a college degree
You live in a blue state
You had happily married parents
You marry after age 25
You watch romantic movies with your spouse

My parents have a 100% chance of not getting divorced. They separated prior to a marriage. Best way to avoid a divorce, imo.

I read the highlighted below as: "my practice is 80% bankrupt!" I was about to pm you to commiserate.
On more likely divorce: I'm 0 out of 6 so that's good.
On less likely: I'm 1(married after 25...this time) out of 6 so that's not good.
I am doomed!
BTW GO TIGERS!

Well, my Tigers fell a little short in the Liberty Bowl today. We'll get 'em next year.
Speaking of next year, Happy New Year to you bunch of knuckleheads. 2018 was a good year for me in pretty much all aspects of my life. This place was a small, but really enjoyable, part of the big picture. Schnelly, thanks again for setting it up. Best wishes to all of you for a great 2019!
