Goddamn, still love my 996
Goddamn, still love my 996
I pulled up a photo from last September's PCA Concours - it was held at Cancer Survivors Park, and I wanted to use the photo for World Cancer Day because I'm all into social causes if they require NO time or effort on my part. I'm a goddamn hero.
Anyway, this photo made me realize just how much I still love my 996...not in a "meh, I haven't found anything better" way, but much more a "I'm 16 again and just saw a girl in a really tight sweater on a cold California morning" kinda way.
Anyone who says the 996 is ugly: f**k you, and a plague of The Diabeetus upon your house for a thousand years.

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.
Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

They look kinda sooty to me, also, so probably time for a rebuild.

The Evo2 is the best extreme summer tire I've found that I can afford to shred, although they can get greasy and will start chunking if you get them too hot...but I'm always on the lookout for my NEXT good tire I can afford to shred.
RE: tip height - the mounts are WEVO semi-solid; I moved my tips onto a set of Fister cans. They may not be perfect, but they're definitely not drooping.
RE: sooty tailpipes: zero f***s given. Will continue driving/maintaining as normal until one of us shits the bed.
