Re: Motorcycle PORN!
Nice herd of KTM's! I'm officially jealous! I have a 2013.5 Factory Edition 450SX-F. I live in Southern California, and it's near impossible to get MX bikes plated for on-road use with a manufacture date after 2008 here. I recently read about a workaround by registering in South Dakota. If I can pull it off, my 450 will become my dual sport!

What is that, Kalash? The seating position reminds me of a reclining lounge chair with handlebars! It's just a beer holder and a tv screen as an instrument panel away from a comfortable Netflix marathon. But having said that, I'd ride it... as long as there really is a beer holder.

That's Honda NM4. Their futuristic Batman bike.
Re: Motorcycle PORN!
Currently, the bike fleet is a KTM 950 Super Enduro, KTM 950 Adventure S, KTM 1190 Adventure S, and a KTM 450 XC-W Six days... All plated and (kind of) street legal. Plus an orphan VStrom DL1000.Flat6BlahBlah wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 11:10 pm Nice herd of KTM's! I'm officially jealous! I have a 2013.5 Factory Edition 450SX-F. Colorado is pretty easy to plate an off road bike, for now at least. They made it a bit more difficult a few years ago, but still pretty easy (added an actual inspection to the process, before you just had to sign a statement).
At least with KTM, they offer fully titled street legal versions of their off road bikes with the required accouterments, and they can be modified back to full dirt worthiness pretty easily after registration for states that aren't as easy as Colorado. Not the SX bikes though, as I'm sure you know.

Re: Motorcycle PORN!
All of your bikes are awesome, pfbz. I couldn't imagine being on a liter bike off-road. I could see getting in over my head pretty quickly with that kind of power. The local KTM dealer is CJ Wilson http://cjwilsonracing.com/ so at least I know the money spent there is going to another Porsche enthusiast. But I try to stare at the ground whenever I go in for parts. The place smells like new plastic and temptation.
And, Kalash, I think they're marketing that scooter with an auto transmission to women. This is what you need

A sidecar for your cooler full of beer and your shirt, and a nice Russian girl on the seat behind you.

LOL man, I want the automatic comfortable bike to ride around on. It looks cool, will be reliable, and too slow for me to kill myself haha.
Re: Motorcycle PORN!
I'm a good, but not epic rider... At least compared to the guys I ride with, some of which are really really good. Ironically the gap closes a bit on the big dual sports. The Super Enduro feels surprisingly like a 450, as long as your on the pegs and moving. it gets REAL heavy REAL fast if you loose forward momentum and try and dab a foot. I haven't ridden the 1190 seriously off road yet as I just picked it up, but at 150 HP, I'm betting it's interesting, though the new KTM big dual sports are supposed to have some amazing electronic aids tuned for dirt riding... Sort of like track mode PSM and ABS in a Porsche.Flat6BlahBlah wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2018 7:33 pm I couldn't imagine being on a liter bike off-road. I'll second the vote for a Ural for Kalish! I know a few guys who have them and they are a hoot! And if your going to have a 40-ish horsepower bike, it might as well at least look manly!

Re: Motorcycle PORN!
Love the old BMW airheads... My first big dualsport was a BMW R100GS Paris-Dakar.
Definitely regret selling it, though it did absolutely nothing as well as any one of the newer KTM's, it was one of the coolest bikes I've owned.
It actually came up for sale again on eBay years after I sold it (but with almost no additional miles), but I spotted it a few days after it was listed and someone else had already snagged it.
