I know your pain. On my old Escape you had to:
  1. Remove the passenger wheel.
  2. Remove the passenger hub assembly.
  3. Remove the passenger axle.
  4. Unbolt the engine.
  5. Lift the engine at least 6" off it's mounting pads.
Saw many people that tried to find an easier method, no one ever did that I'm aware of. $900 bill for swapping the alternator. I replaced it 5 times with the worst being the one that was identified as frozen AFTER they put it all back together :x

Now the location of the alternator is the first thing I check when looking at a car. Seriously.

Meanwhile I have been debating for about 3 months whether to pull the AC and power steering out of the Miata. They would come out as a combo; the AC still works and I don't need it but I'm not sure I'll like the car without power steering which definitely still works. They both are on the same accessory belt and it's sort of an all or nothing thing. (Not entirely true, I could keep one or the other and just switch to a shorter belt but the simplest is to either delete both or keep them both.) I don't think the lack of power steering will be really all that noticeable at speed (definitely is at low speeds/parking) but something is nagging in the back of my mind or else I would have already done it. It would drop 30 pounds or so, which wouldn't suck, for sure.

Actually that is pretty cool in a stylistic way. If you could delete the boy racer wing and substitute a 75 mph poser wing I would buy a tee shirt or cap of it! Serious... check how the Blipshift thing works!

Maybe it can be featured on the 2018 Vegas Run shirt. If there's a 2018 Vegas run.

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

RR 2018 can happen. Some things from last year can be improved. I think that event played out well, and Vegas guys got to meet each other and made new local 996 buddies.

Main issue like last year will be participation. Few key people dropped out at the last minute, and that was bad.
