Huh. Used to go to Sunset Cliffs to make out and enjoy the sunset. Married at the Old Whale Bunker Point Loma. Used to detail my car on Fiesta Island on Saturday mornings. Brings back some memories.

In other news, I _still_ haven't fixed my goddamn window regulators.

I am SOOOO lazy.

Took me most of a day to do mine but I suck at this. I was trying to be careful, because I knew if I scratched the interior I would see it all the time and hate myself. And guess what. So, I get where you're coming from.

THEN the part didn't fit exactly, but I installed it anyway. So, I'm going to need to do it again (at least adjust it) soon.

REALLY hoping that if I mark everything properly before I start pulling out the glass and regulator, I won't screw up the alignment too bad during reassembly.

Put about 200 miles on the Turbro driving to my hometown and back for a funeral. It wasn't a close relative and she was 91 years old, so . . .

Anyway, I stopped by an old friend's office that I hadn't seen in decades just because I was driving by. We sat and talked for about 45 minutes. Was good to catch up. Then stopped by to see my mom, who is doing pretty well now.

Got to see a nice sunset on the way home. All in all, not a bad afternoon considering it included a funeral.

Makes a huge difference to mark things, most important the bottom regulator bolt positions AND the window glass. Grease pencil for the glass, sharpie for bottom bolts. Don't forget to autograph the inside panel of the door on the way out. :)

Another nice winter day today - sunny and nearly 60 degrees. I drove about an hour north of KC to pick up the X1/9, where it had been in an Italian specialty shop out in the boonies getting a water pump and timing belt. It also ended up needing both a master and slave cylinder for the clutch. I drove it back out of the hinterlands, through downtown KC and into The Underground (the Kansas City Automotive Museum’s classic car storage facility). It will probably spend the rest of the winter in The Underground, but I surely enjoyed driving it today.

I replaced my pass side regulator last weekend. Actually pretty easy. Maybe took an hour or so.

Definitely make the window before removing it. Put some tape on the glass to mark where the clamps are. No adjustment needed on the new regulator. There are a couple of youtube vids that show you how.
