Well, been putting this off for a while. What seems like a super easy thing to do, turned into a royal PITA.

hahahaha... I know I should be grateful the previous owner didn't glue it to the seat for no good reason. Man, I was so frustrated... I'd get the plate to snap on to the electronic board, then the switches wouldn't work right, then I'd get the switches to work, then the panel would pop off the back. Back and forth it went for an hour. The driver side went on smoothly, but it was the passenger side that was the devil.

Sno Seal (recommended by Cuda) really softened up my driver's bolsters. Apply on a hot summer day to let the leather absorb the moisture. Between that and color treatment they should feel and look great.

Does anyone have experience with both Leatherique conditioning oil and Sno Seal? I have only used the Leatherique and it has a similar procedure - hot day, windows up, let sit as long as possible. Then they sell a cleaner for getting the oil off. I liked it - so it's 1/1 for me. Haven't tried anything else.

Sno-Seal Beeswax Sealer? Really? Wow, never thought we'd have to waterproof our seats, but given the amount of clogged drained posts where the immobilizers drowned, I guess it doesn't hurt to protect the seats from doing the same.

yuk yuk The sno-seal has an uncanny ability to soften up worn bolsters, and it lasts too. I'll treat mine again next month when it's hot. The dye is a helpful tip though, thanks for sharing. Is your car about done in terms of heavy lifting? It sure seems to be turning into a 'good one'.

Coooool... I went to Home Depot to get some Sno-Seal, but they only sell it online. ugh. But thanks for the advice. And yea, I'm taking a pause and enjoy what I have ... it sure is easy to dump a fortune in these cars. Fortunately, (forgive the word redundancy), the engine doesn't have any leaks or tell tale signs of trouble. Hooked up the scanner and she has a clean bill of heath at the moment.

Drove the 996 to work today. Got here early! hehehe

Maybe it's me being a little over attentive while driving, but does it seem like every car on the road seems to want to race and... "get in front of the Porsche"?
