I saw Pensacola and thought you may have re-enlisted and gone down for a little refresher training.

That does look nice. Mrs. S. and I are headed out the door at 5 to walk to our local Mexican joint for a sidewalk dinner. Not quite the Keys, but it’ll do.

I recovered about 5 lbs of aluminum from the heat sinks in the amp I fried a few months back. The anodized stuff melts with almost no dross/slag.

Ha, no, but the condos in that pic are where I lived during flight school. It sucks when the quality of your living accommodations peaks when you’re 24 years old.Einsteiger wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 4:32 pm I saw Pensacola and thought you may have re-enlisted and gone down for a little refresher training.
We are headed over to NAS Pensacola on Thursday when max$wag arrives. We will tour the Naval Aviation Museum, which is where the ceremonies for both my commissioning (Aviation Officer Candidate School - think “Officer and a Gentleman” movie) and my wings. The family has never been here. Hell, I’ve only been back twice for very short stays since 1988. It’s not as pretty as SoCal, but the beaches are phenomenal.

Pretty sure Boeing is doing the QA for the new MS Flight Simulator updates. The update broke keyboard and joystick mapping for extending flaps. Retracting worked just fine.
Anyone interested in a slightly-used Airbus A320? Runs and drives; not sure about anything else.
Regarding vacations: *sigh*. Mrs. S. and I punted our 25th anniversary trip to Italy because 'rona. The plan was to resume that plan as soon as we got inoculated, but with the decline in Mrs. S's folks out in North Carolina, it appears that our "vaccication" will instead be a trip to Hickory to widen doors, build wheelchair ramps, install grab bars, and make some mods to my father-in-law's "new" accessible van. Which is fine...Italy isn't going anywhere.

Against my own better judgment, I ordered a vial of gallium.
