It's a good thing I have little money and no extra garage space. The LS2-powered 240Z currently at $31K would be fun to die in...

A few birthdays ago, my GF got me a stock car driving experience at Irwindale. No instructor in the car, he was watching from their tower and giving feedback through radio. He was spot on with everything I was doing wrong. Probably not an option for large tracks, but it was a great way to learn. I haven't tried a lead car type experience yet.

Its now been almost 8 weeks since we moved to Lago Vista (Austin) and in a few words....We love it!! Don't really miss San Diego that much, especially with a gal of 93 at $2.75 vs 4.50 for 91 in SD. Its really peaceful and low stress here

Still not completely unpacked, mainly because we are having a lot of work done on the house. Yea, that's a bit odd as it is a new build, but the builder wouldn't put in the tile floors we wanted or add the cabinetry we wanted. Have had a few intense storms and some amazing electrical storms and a bit of hail thrown in for good measure. You know what they say, it's Texas, wait 10 min and the weather will change

One thing we didn't count on was the herd of White Tail Deer that visit us a few times a day. Its actually very relaxing to hand feed them. The pic is a few of our new friends

We have around 15-20 visiting at a time, including as many as 6 fawns.

At least in SD no worries of a deer jumping out in front of my car! Or ruin my garden. You will learn to curse those giant rats.

Concur. We have some deer in our truly urban/city area and they come in on occasion and strip every flower and new shoots from every plant in the yard. Curse the bastards....

Sorry, I am with JayG on this one. We love our deer, except for the big buck that almost ran me over trying to get away from our dog. It was nighttime so I didn't know he was in the yard when I let the dog out.

For a dense suburban area, we have a lot of animals, including foxes and opossums. The only ones I could do without are the chickadees that start singing at 4 AM.

I'm fond of the wild rabbits, myself.

This showed up on Mountain Reporter, the site that covers the local mountain resort areas. The vehicle was not driving autonomously; the driver had the skinny pedal down and understeered off a 100-foot cliff.

I'm kind of stunned it isn't on fire...but also impressed that there were no injuries rated more than "mild to moderate" among the 4 passengers.

My parents and little sister are moving from Oahu to TX in a few weeks. Your post makes me feel happy for them. Counting the days till I'm out of CA myself. Thank you for sharing. :)

P.s. most builders are limiting any extra/custom offerings due to material shortages. I saw this across the board at the 6+ developments I looked at in Florida.
