This is what I do: I tell the kid/kids I can't drink/eat whatever they are hawking and drop an appropriate amount of US currency in their grimy little hands and walk off.

Whenever I buy lemonade from some kid's roadside stand, it gets dumped into the first bush around the next corner. Are you a better man than I am, or did you shitcan that thing?

I just call the cops to report them running a business without a license. Teaches them a valuable lesson about the business world and it's free entertainment when you get to watch cops put a beat down on a couple of kids!

How stupid can a small midwest city really be?

We have a regional airport here in Lincoln. It was down to one airline through 2020. Wait...it's now 2021 and an airline returned so we have a grand total of two with only two non-stop destinations Chicago-United and Minneapolis-Delta. So in the last two years the airport authority passed a $55 million budget for expansion/improvement complete with further digging into the taxpayer's pockets. This work has been going on for some time when yesterday Delta said "Screw it we are out! Future passenger load does not support our continued service to Lincoln."

How stupid I asked...Pretty freakin' stupid in my opinion.

I'm originally from Omaha, but we've not lived there since 1976. Take Kansas City off your list - consistently the 4th most violent city in America. We live in Overland Park where the local law enforcement has zero tolerance for the subversive groups found in KCMO....but who knows how long that will last? The Dakotas are less populated, but the winters would kill me for certain.

I remember your Omaha roots. Kansas City is just a bigger Omaha with probably more gangs. Overland Park. That brings back old memories. The BN had their corporate offices there for years. Lots of good bar-b-que near there. "Dakotas" agree way too cold. Heck it gets too cold around here!"
