When I have to take a second job to pay for the premium fuel, I'll happily drive there in my 996. :D

I hate it when Home Depot puts stuff on sale - I'm like Cuda at a car auction. Yesterday, I ended up buying thirteen 5 gallon Emerald Green Arbor Vitae shrubs to plant in the tree line behind my house. When we built the house back in '95, I planted a bunch of different trees and bushes back there to provide privacy. About 3 years ago, the subdivision "trimmed" them as they were beginning to cover the sidewalk on the backside of the tree line. Well, the company they hired to trim actually removed about 2/3 of the trees/bushes, giving anyone walking by on the sidewalk a great view of me in my underwear on Sunday mornings as I stood in my family room looking out the back windows at my yard.

Earlier this spring, I figured that I would buy about 5 or 6 bushes to fill in the tree line. The Bride of FRUNKenstein then said she thought 8 ought to do the trick. My next door neighbor thought it needed 10 to 12. When I went to Home Depot yesterday, the 5 gallon shrubs were on sale 25% off, making them cheaper than the much, much smaller versions. So, naturally, I bought 13 of them.

I managed to drag them all home, and got 10 of the 13 planted last night. 3 more to get in the ground tonight. The problem is that even though I waited 3 years for the root system to die away, the amount of roots still there is crazy. I ended up going back to Home Depot to buy a reciprocating saw and some tree branch/root blades, but it's still exhausting work.

Please tell us you made that Home Depot trip in the 914

When the 986 was still new we saw someone at HD tying a 4x8 sheet of plywood to one with it's top down. I have often wondered over the years what that trip home was like.

Nah, not the 914. However, a couple of years ago, I picked up 20 bags of mulch from there in the '88 BMW 325i.

I have a nasty habit of forgetting which car I drove to the store while I'm in the store.

Did you inspect the pizza joint, too, or just the brewery?
