The lift is pretty slow (about an inch per second), and it's actually about 4 inches from the ceiling still. You do have to mind where you park it on the lift. Too far back, and the garage door will clip the wing when it closes. Too far forward and the nose will hit the small lawnmower lift I have that sits in front of the car lift.32wildbilly wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 8:33 am Does it not make you nervous to hoist a nice car up so close to the ceiling!!?? Marinated, seared tri-tip on the grill. Potatoes boiling for mash on the stove. The Mrs. and I walked 3 miles to the store and back for salad (WTF). For those of you with kids, wish your wives a happy Mother's Day. For those of you without, make sure your wife is all good. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

I still think how she is Mormon and is opting to forego the tenant that says she is supposed to provide you with 7 children to assure your place in heaven (and if I recall correctly, you not getting into heaven means she does not either). This can only mean one of two things.
She absolutely hates you to a degree that she is willing to sacrifice her own soul to make sure you burn in hell. If so I both respect that level of dedication and wonder just what it is that you did to anger her to such a point.
Alternatively, she knows that you are Satan incarnate and giving you a free pass to heaven would allow you to unleash yourself on the world without fear of immortal punishment. In which case, she is indeed doing the Lord's work by taking one for the team.
I'm leaning towards the second explanation, but either way I'd say you've got yourself a special one there!

I'll go with option 3 ($40K worth of infertility/IVF about a decade ago didn't yield any results). Thus, mother's day sucks for the Mrs. - so we avoid restaurants, church, etc. where she gets inundated with "Happy Mother's Day" wishes from well-meaning people who don't have any idea...
But there's probably a bit of option 2 in there as well.![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

Also, it's "tenet," you troglodyte.gnat wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 7:40 amI still think how she is Mormon and is opting to forego the tenant that says she is supposed to provide you with 7 children to assure your place in heaven (and if I recall correctly, you not getting into heaven means she does not either). Am I an idiot that blindly trusts spellcheck or am I an asshole that knows how to piss off a language wonk?

I always thought it was insensitive of people who fling around the "Happy Mother's" day to any woman of a certain age that might qualify to be a Mom. People are idiots.
