Pee Pee Eye struggled a bit over the weekend - the ol' boy is pushing 14 now. I thought this might be the Weekend of the Needle, but he's better today...

On an unrelated note, if anyone needs a pair of Labradoodle slippers, let me know off-thread.

That's tough. Sorry dude.

This time last year we thought it was probably time as she wasn't eating and was super lethargic, so we took her to get checked out. They called (they wouldn't let us stay) and told us yeah it was time. When we got there to say good bye she was back to her old self bouncing off the walls and eating treats. We couldn't do it much to the irritation of the Vet who assured us we would be back the next day or sometime during the week at the latest. There were rough patches, but she went on until a couple weeks after her 15th birthday in August. Then it was clear she was ready, but it was still hard (still hard thinking about her).

This was the same dog that 10 years prior we were told she had 6 months due to a valve failing in her heart. The last she saw that cardiologist a few months before the end that valve was still barely holding on, but it was doing it. That dog never accepted being told what her timeline looked like.

Last pic I took of her in April of last year :(

Yea, it's always hard to say goodbye to a member of your family.

It's not uncommon for them to get a burst of energy right when you have come to grips that it's time. You don't want them to suffer
You need to make their last day the best day they have ever had.

Our doggos give us many of our best days, but sadly one of our worst. Best wishes that PeePeeEye continues on the rebound, and for you and your family when that dreaded day comes.

Ugh. Over the years I've had to make the unacceptable decision too many times. But I can't think of a cat or dog I would have skipped having in order to avoid that day. They all bring special things to our lives. Good advice above ... the next days are special and should be made so.

Sorry to hear this, Dallas. It's tough and I know how much he means to you.

We lost our dog that lives at the museum, Kane, about 3 weeks ago. He had a heart attack late one night and passed in the arms of our live-in custodian. The dog (Kane) was 13 years old and had glaucoma, but the custodian had Kane since Kane was 3 weeks old. It was incredibly difficult for the custodian. But, last week, he got a new Boston Terrier puppy, and that has made things much easier for him. But, I know it will be hard for you.

He's a good boy - so yeah, it'll be a rough day when he does the rainbow bridge shuffle. I'm sorry to hear about Museum Dog. I'm sure the new pup is helping.

I didn't pay anything for Pee Pee Eye and I've only paid out a few grand for repairs, so...he has been just as good a bargain as my 996. Plus he leaks less and I don't have to remember to plug him into the maintainer.

I have a great Son-in-law. He was there recently watching the Chefs beat the Raiders.
