Just present the car as Exhibit A and the judge will likely throw the case out recognizing the impossibility of the situation.FRUNKenstein wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 10:37 am Probably going to be $500 or more "amendment" though.

In 22 years, I have never gotten a ticket of any sort in the 996. I have had tickets in all 9 of the other vehicles I have owned or had regular use of.
Last one I had was in the P!g (fucker was actually chasing someone else but decided to give up and take me instead ). For being a dick on the road he was actually cool in court and immediately suggested the judge reduce the charge. When the judge asked me to explain myself I explained that the wife just had a miscarriage (true) and I was on my way home from talking to a surgeon about heart surgery (also true, but I didn't mention that it wasn't the scary kind). Apparently the judge has a reputation for being a real hard ass, but he knocked it down even further than the cop requested and made it a non moving violation.

I've only gotten one actual speeding ticket...and Cuda's ticket fixer fixed it for me. For $75. It was ridiculously cheap.
Also I don't drive anything that doesn't have a radar detector. I can't count how many times Mrs. S. or I have avoided the wrath of the law thanks to installing decent radar detectors in everything we own.
Having a dashcam visible when you get pulled over doesn't seem to hurt, either. One especially dick LEO pulled me over to give me crap for no front plate; when he saw the dashcam (and asked if it was a dashcam), he got back on his bike and left.

In other news, our WK2 Grand Cherokee has now eaten as many water pumps as the 996 - but it's only done 70K miles vs. the 996's 110Kish.
At least I was able to shame the Jeep dealership into not charging for this replacement, since the last "new" pump only lasted 3K miles.

Finally got to see my pop's new C8 R yesterday when I met him for breakfast in Dana Point. Ain't gonna lie - it's a pretty sweet ride.

He wanted me to, but I wasn't keen on blasting around Dana Point with a street fair going on half a block away. I'll give it a try the next time I'm up at his place in Huntington Beach - there's an awesome stretch of PCH between where he lives and Seal Beach that lends itself to exuberant driving.
I-5 has been a crapshoot lately, but yesterday was awesome. Traffic was moving at 85-95 northbound at ~6:30 AM, and just a little slower coming back south at 10AM. The SoCal autobahn did not disappoint yesterday.

Schnelly what is it about that C8 that makes it an "R"? I don't know anything about Corvette special packages besides Z06. I could google this but this is now what we are here for - now is it?
