Could be. But, today I had 3 legitimate buyers contact me. So, not if it was price or timing, but hope to have it sold this week.Dr_Strangelove (whew!) wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2023 12:35 pm Time of year / used loan rates?
PS I think the seats are great.

Re: On Becoming a Macan "Expert"
Sold the 2017 white Macan Turbo today. I had 3 offers on it, all good offers. It sold to one of my friends in the local PCA. He had been interested in it from the start, but was traveling for Thanksgiving so hadn't been able to move on it yet. I am glad to see it go to a KCRPCA guy as it's a really nice one, and it's cool to see a car that I brought into the KC area stay here in town with Porsche people.
One of the other buyers is a recent college graduate young lady. She was very excited about it, so I felt bad having to call her literally as she was filling out the loan paperwork for it to say it was sold. I offered to help her find another one and just charge a finder's fee. I have been looking at a Performance Package car that I found and is very reasonably priced, but higher than what I want to spend on a winter driver for myself. So, I offered that car to her - I haven't bought it yet, but figured I'd make her a smoking good deal on it since I felt bad that she didn't get the white one.

You should have been a used car sales dude instead of a lawyer.
On second thought maybe not as you are too honest and compassionate(which is a good thing).
Good job on the sale.

Re: On Becoming a Macan "Expert"
So, yesterday I bought a 2016 Macan S, black over red interior, from the Dallas auction. It will arrive on Saturday. I had a post-sale inspection done on it at the auction, and it passed just fine. Being an S model, it isn't nearly as well optioned as the 2017 Turbo. But, it also only has 51k miles on it.
When I sent the info on that Performance Package Turbo I was looking at, the recent college grad she she really wanted a red interior (yeah, Billy, I know, I know). So, I will offer this one to her.
BTW, the Performance Package Turbo sold. I was interested, but something in my head was saying to pass. It had 99k miles on it, so I was really squeamish about the prospect of selling one with over 100k miles on it after driving it through the winter. Still, those things are just really rare - there are only a handful for sale anywhere across the country.

Re: On Becoming a Macan "Expert"
Ha, right! I settled a case recently that I did for a friend who got sued over the sale of a vintage Porsche. The friend was a retired guy and the buyer was, you guessed it, a lawyer. The entire case was made up. But, the kicker was that the lawyer sued my friend's son simply because he was listed on the title as a "transfer on death" recipient. He didn't care that it screwed up the son's career to be accused of 6 counts of fraud (including 2 counts of criminal fraud). My faith in my fellow attorneys is not particularly strong.Dr_Strangelove (whew!) wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 3:17 pm "You're so honest and compassionate. You should be... a lawyer."
