The Rennlist (dammit)
The Rennlist (dammit)
Can we drop the euphemism? We all know you are talking about Rennlist and it is neither Voldemort, Rumplestilskin, nor Bettleguese.
I remember years ago RL and 6spd had some animosity where the mods would get upset if you mentioned one on the other (especially linking). I've also been on other forums that went so far as to add alternate sites to their naughty word filter. It's all just silly in my opinion.
I condone neither promoting nor slagging alternate sites, but I don't think we should treat them as some taboo either.

Re: The Rennlist (dammit)
We can do that.
I just understood from previous comments that we didn't want to antagonize the mods over there (well, any more than we already had), so we were not using the name. I've got nothing against Rennlist itself - heck, I still spend quite a bit of time over there, albeit now limited exclusively to the 996tt forum. Thankfully the problem mods don't venture there often.

If they get antagonized by someone mentioning their site here or this site there as part of a normal conversation, then there is no helping them.kcattorney wrote: ↑Sun Apr 29, 2018 11:03 pm We can do that.

Slagging off about how "bad" the mods are, posting about causing trouble, etc.. is certainly a different story though.
What I'm talking about is the "I found this on Rennlist (dammit) and wondered what you lot thought" type comments.

Re: The Rennlist (dammit)
My Bad...I felt admonished here early on(rightfully so) because of some activity there and was being overly careful not mentioning Rennlist as I didn't want to appear to be negative, again. BTW how does anyone know I wasn't referring to 6Speed?gnat wrote: ↑Mon Apr 30, 2018 5:10 amIf they get antagonized by someone mentioning their site here or this site there as part of a normal conversation, then there is no helping them.kcattorney wrote: ↑Sun Apr 29, 2018 11:03 pm We can do that.

I agree. There should be no reason to avoid mentioning other sites IMHO. Nothing to hide here. Lots of great people on the other forums.
