I thought they used the Hudson river and concrete shoes. My knowledge is expanding daily....
No, the Hudson-and-shoes thing is mostly NY, although the East River and the Gowanus Canal are very popular also. The Gowanus has the unique advantage of being so incredibly polluted that nobody would ever look in it. Entirely new life forms are rumored to exist there, and scientists are scared that it might actually be true. Imagine your worst reptilian nightmare — sort of an Alien/Predator/Roseanne Barr kind of deal.
In Jersey I think they mostly use the (*ahem*) wetlands, unless of course Giants Stadium is undergoing renovation. Then they dig up whoever was put in the home end zone during the previous renovation, relocate him to the (*ahem*) wetlands, and plant the new guy. Given the relative lack of offense generated by the Giants and Jets lately, I’m pretty sure the dearly departed find the (*ahem*) wetlands much less peaceful than the stadium.
OK, I don’t really know if most of the stuff about Giants Stadium is true. But the part about about the Gowanus Canal? Hey, you can look it up. If giant mutant lizards eat Brooklyn, I won’t be the least bit surprised.
