You know what NEVER happens in California?
Friends show up in tanks.
Friends show up in tanks.
Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.
Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

The closest thing to a friend showing up in a tank in California is an Orange County House Wife showing up to Costco in her 2019 Suburban.

Indeed! Any IMSB issues with that thing? What's the best oil for it?

I haven't been on the Flat6 site for awhile, the new site looks stellar.
Can't wait to see the videos. Having an enthusiast & a vendor that share the same passion for something, working together on a project like this is awesome.
So is the tank the company car or the family car for outings?
For those that haven't driven one of these things before, it FUN!

Reminds me of an old John Huston / Jeff Bridges movie: Winter Kills A bunch of eccentric guys would drive out in their tanks and shoot at each other.

I drive military vehicles daily.. Sometimed we use the Sultan for a lunch run, or the Fox to grab ice cream..
My Porsches stay parked, l try to drive them about 20 miles per month, each to keep them exercised. I have gotten bored with them, and I can’t enjoy them at events without being bothered, or some jackass making a remark. B3freak was present at a local event where 996 owners were talking about me, and IMS issues, while l was right in front of them.. They had no clue, because l had shown up in an Austrian fire truck (VW LT40).
The military vehicles aren’t that way, l show up, no games of 20 questions, and everyone says “I’ve never seen one of those before”.
The next time the values peak, the Porsche collection will go.

BTW just in my opinion...people can be jerks especially when they are jealous or have no idea what they are talking about. Guess a lot of folks have never heard this saying:
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt." Unknown
Never gonna make you cry...

Jake, I'm glad you weren't standing there when one of the Porsche guys said the IMS bearing problem was a bunch of hype. He wasn't trying to be malicious or anything, just misinformed in my opinion. I explained that I personally witnessed seeings stacks of damaged intermediate shafts destroyed by OEM bearing failures and personally talked to many that thought the same way he did before experiencing engine failure. Something that could have been solved for a couple grand, is now going to cost $20K+. He was driving a '99 model 996 and so I said, be thankful you're driving that one (pointing at car) with that kind of opinion on the IMS problem.Renn Meister wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 8:12 pm I drive military vehicles daily.. You say that, but as much as I hear you talk about the 912E, I wouldn't be surprised if you keep it in the family. Seems like I remember seeing it in the "Bug Me" video series or was that just the 914? Seems like I remember seeing it in the background. Those videos date back to the 90s. 912E is a long time friend!Renn Meister wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 8:12 pm The next time the values peak, the Porsche collection will go.
