Re: My 2002 996... I have to make this short and sweet for now. Gotta run to my daughter's basketball game. WOot Woot!

Pros:

1. No ticking/knocking or other screechin' noises
2. No intermix
3. Temps stay at 180F
4. Clutch is smooth - no slippage
5. AOS is good - no smoke
6. No signs of leaks (from what we could tell)
7. motor mounts are good
8. belt good
9. No service engine lights (YAY!)
10. All dome lights work
11. Key works - lock and unlocks - starts car - duhhhh
12. Overall much stronger engine response compared to my cab
13. Interior leather is good and all buttons function normally
14. Windows work without the regulator grinding problem.

Cons - (future repairs)
1. Minor scratches and dings.
2. Hood/frunk lock sensor malfunctioning
3. Brake pads and rotors are shot
4. Sloppy aftermarket stereo install - left something loose in the driver side door that rattles
5. Window tint is bubbling... needs removal
6. Cheesy faux carbon fiber stickers on the center dash, arm rest, and vents. yuck!
7. Custom installed radar detector that doesn't work. Sloppy install too btw
8. Frunk and rear deck hood shocks need to be replaced
9. Custom Aftermarket 19" wheels look cool, but not my taste. (new tires though)
10. All wipers need to be replaced.

more latta...

So I have been looking at used golf carts. Gas vs Electric. We have about 1 acre of grass and 4 that are all woods / ravines. Tomorrow's subject is a gas Yamaha with a wood flatbed..this one could really come in handy. Friday I'm heading to an auction that has 80 electric carts. Anybody know what a fair auction price is on a 2007 EZ go cart is? I have no idea.

I used to have about 20 acres in north San Diego county. The terrain was both gently rolling, as well as very steep in some areas. In about 15 years, I went through two Yamaha gas carts, and two Club Car electric carts. I've never owned an EZ-GO, but I've never heard anything bad about them. The biggest difference back then was that Club Car had an aluminum chassis, and the others were steel. In the end, after running gas, electric, and lifted with bigger tires, and stock with turf tires, the electric stock carts worked the best. You might be surprised how many miles they'll run strong on a single charge, even with a stereo on and lights going. And the difference between the near silence of electric versus the noise generated from a gas engine is worth any perceived (false or otherwise) shortcomings. We use a Club Car with an aluminum flatbed and wooden stake sides on the 5 acre place that I'm at now. You either rebuild an engine after years of use, or you replace batteries in an electric version. Batteries are easier and you'll never have to take a trip to the gas station to fill gas cans specifically for the cart. Either way, they're a great utility vehicle for the property, and a great way to visit neighbors with adult refreshments onboard.

For values, eBay completed auctions and craigslist will be pretty good indicators.

Ok... gotta a question to encourage colorful responses... ;)

my 996 does not have Porsche Stabilization Management. What does this mean... I'm going to be MORE out of control than normal? :?: :)
