Like you guys, I've driving quite of few sports cars, but once you drive a 996, it's hard to go back to anything else. Can I get a witness in the house?kcattorney wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2018 6:47 pm Congrats B3. I knew you'd be back in a 996. They always come back . . .

Didn't I see that it has the exceptionally horrifically disgusting .2 headlights? I thought all .2s had PSM?
Not having it (or turning it off) just means that it is more likely to drive backwards unexpectedly to try to hide its shame from not having perfectly round headlights and/or to give spectators a better view of its exploding IMSB.

I can't call my XK8 a sports car (but it was one hell of a tourer ... when it worked ...) so the 996 was the first of the category.b3freak wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2018 7:00 pmLike you guys, I've driving quite of few sports cars, but once you drive a 996, it's hard to go back to anything else. Can't say anything else has appealed to me beyond "ohhhh. Wouldn't that be nice!".
Not the prettiest of the bunch and wasn't even the fastest back in its day, but there is something special about it!
Though Nothern Va to Baltimore and back today in a 5500lb P!g with a 50+ mph average (which includes about 20 miles of being mixed up on surface streets) and 29.9mpg average is a damn fine substitute

Well I know I shouldn't spoil your new car-warming gift but I was thinking of the following two safety devices considering your predicament. Let me know if you like one because they're *whispers* Porsche parts and they are kinda pricey...

Congrats B3!
Looks like a good car. I knew that it had some ghetto rims, since you didn't post any side pics! Pictures from the butt showed some chrome concaves on the back.
To make the car fully aesthetic in my book, all you need are the set of C2 light weight wheels (5 spokes), tint all around, and good polish. The car will look great.

Hahaha... now that just made my day! I love the helmet... a new *sweet* type of head protection.Dr_Strangelove (whew!) wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2018 8:27 pmWell I know I shouldn't spoil your new car-warming gift but I was thinking of the following two safety devices considering your predicament. Yea, I must admit these 19" wheels are a bit much in my book. I hope to swap them out in the future with some OEM 18" turbo twist or 18" Carrera II/III type wheels. These look like Forgeline wheels. (see picture) Instead of dumping here in the "Good Week" thread, I'll start a new build thread. Since I'm totally out of money, bringing this car back totally stock will take some time.

I thought the same thing, but there's not a PSM button like on my '03 cabriolet. (see picture) Hmmm??? The car is an early build date of 8/01, wonder if PSM was standard later? I don't know.gnat wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2018 7:55 pmDidn't I see that it has the exceptionally horrifically disgusting .2 headlights? I thought all .2s had PSM?
