Yes. The first rule of letting your kid drive is to do it in a location where crashing or getting hit is as close to zero as possible :P

Alright, I'm a little late posting this but I picked up the car last week and drove her home! My wife absolutely did not want to fly, so we drove 800 miles down, and 800 miles back. A lot of fun. Also, we didn't want to drive a boring SUV all that way, so we "rented" an RS5.

Love the white convertibles! Had to be a fun trip driving through the post-apocalyptical virus zombie wasteland for 800 miles with little traffic. I see that a bunch of bugs gave their lives for your trip
Enjoy the new car! Is the S5 a keeper too, or are you giving that back to CarMax this week?

Unfortunately, the RS5 went back to CarMax  My wife is really sad, but I promised her we'd buy a blue one in the future. She really loved that car, and the sound of the V8 was quite intoxicating.

It was a very fun drive for both of us, and the Porsche drove better than my last 996 with its brand new clutch. Also my first convertible, and I am enjoying that feature, especially with the heated seats.

Congrats! I feel like I can't stand up too quickly after looking at a white Carrera... head's all loopy. Freaking gorgeous man. Drive her in most excellent health.
Thank you, I also love the white. Just don't see too many in white and it's one of the reasons I bid. The natural grey interior is a great contrast as well, though I do miss the Metropol Blue I had in my last one.

When we started the process (98) of ordering hers we were looking at a deviated interior and potentially a custom leather color (didn't happen as they removed those options when we finally got our 01 build slot :x) our dealer was dealing with another custom interior order as well. The person apparently wanted a while car with a white leather interior (like ours, it was the Herd of Cow option). Porsche AG was apparently balking at the request as they were afraid of the glare that would cause on the windshield.

That's funny gnat, didn't that end up being an issue for them down the road with the 997?

Dunno. I know the 958s with tan interiors have a terrible glare/reflection from their dash on the windshield.

I have decided I want a 1973 914 2.0 in Ravenna Green like this:

That is all.

Won't that kinda clash with your otherwise monochromatic garage?

For the record, the only thing I can current fathom replacing the P!g with is a Peridot 958.1 GTS. Online pictures range from ugly to meh, but in person is a whole different kettle of fish 8-)

Cognac, Luxor Beige, Natural Brown, Platinum Grey and Sand Beige were the "Sunglassgate" interior colors...
