Currently there are fewer than 600 astronauts in the history of Earth; it just seems like it cheapens the brand when you can pay to join the club without even crossing the Kármán line...

Sorry I had melted to my driveway and was unable to access a computer for a moment. Very fun. Very safe. Very cool. PS: If you have any ideas where I should move next - ideally somewhere with water - shoot them out. I work in media production like Bobby so don't say Georgia - that market is taken.
Also - Billionaires in space - maybe we can befriend this guy. Maybe MAYBE he is a secret 996 admirer. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-56261574

VA gets a pretty even mix of shitty weather, but rarely do we see extremes. We also get problems a 60/40 mix of shit and not shit days so it's not all bad. Coming out of LV you'll HATE the summer humidity though. Easy (few hours drive) access to the Atlantic from the DC metro area. Equally easy access to the mountains which is a nice get away for cooler weather in the summer (late fall and late winter when the looky loos aren't out the mountains make for some nice 911 driving).Dr_Strangelove (whew!) wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 12:26 pm PS: If you have any ideas where I should move next - ideally somewhere with water - shoot them out.
No idea what the media production market looks like though.
Not that I have whatever it might cost to spend on such an endeavor, but a trip around the moon would be so much more worth it than $250k to get slung up below LEO space. I certainly wouldn't turn down a ride on any of them, but if you don't get to experience at least one full orbit of the planet or do something worthwhile up there, WTF makes it worthwhile? Also - Billionaires in space - maybe we can befriend this guy. Nah. It's still be worth it to see the moon up close.32wildbilly wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 12:37 pm UH...Thanks for the offer, but not only No...Hell NO! I've seen Elon's rockets before and the way they tend to "land".Dr_Strangelove (whew!) wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 12:26 pm

I'd imagine the VA / DC metro area has tons of media opportunities. So much dog to wag.
