Every time I go to play MS Flight Simulator 2020, there's an update. Updates are cool and all - but today's is 33.40 F@CKING GIGABYTES.
Ain't nobody got time for dat.
Also, Sweet Brown is still on my "buy them a beer if you meet 'em" list after all this...time.

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
Because it's winter here and it gets dark at 4:00 PM I am again reminded of my major annoyance while driving. People who can't use their lights correctly. I'm not talking about those complicated things like "directionals" or as we call 'em in Mass, "blinkers" either. I'm talking about those white-ish lights on the front of the car that are supposed to light up where the car is going.
On my fairly short commute I see about 10% of the cars either have (1) no lights on at all or (2) high beams on at all times. The drivers of these cars are completely oblivious to any attempt to suggest they stop the stealth driving or dim their headlights. The explanation of stealth driving is pretty easy - their video game dash is lit up all the time. Here I like the plan VW has used: if the light sensor sees it's dark, the dash won't light up until the headlights are on.
The permahighbeam problem is more difficult to explain. I think I have the answer though. About 90% of the permahighbeam cars are Honda's. I guess Honda does not install a high beam indicator, or installs a high beam indicator that is too inconspicuous. The remaining 10% of permahighbeam cars are probably driven by indifferent dolts.

(3) Driving by DRL
Now that almost every car has them, DRLs don't make cars any more visible during the day. At night, however, far too many people around me are driving with the damn things at night which means A) they have shit for visibility at the front since they are dimmer than the real lights and B) their ass end is dark and you'll plow into them if you get distracted at the wrong time.
I think you drastically underestimate the level of doltage on American streets...The remaining 10% of permahighbeam cars are probably driven by indifferent dolts.
Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
I don't know how many lives DRLs have saved during the day, but that number can't possibly be higher than the number of accidents caused by f**ktards driving around with no taillights.
I especially like the indignant fingers I get when I try to convey to these morons that their lights are off.

On my 2019 Honda Type R there is a high beam indicator light. It is a very noticeable bright blue just next to the green "headlights on" light. The Honda owners running permahighbeams are either the indifferent dolts you mention or looking at their phones or just stupid beyond belief or a combination of all three.

Re: Good Week @ 996Outpost.com
Aaaaa-yup. Simple fix for this - dash lights should not light up at night if the lights are not turned on. I fell victim to this in a rental car and I realized the reason why I thought the headlights were on is because the instrumentation lights were on. Of course the headlight indicator light was not on but that is another story, ok!?
