Have you noticed nobody knows how to turn left anymore? Everybody cuts the corner even if they're not cutting in front of oncoming traffic which is normal around here too. One of my favorite games when I'm first out is to pull right up to the crosswalk line or the "stop here" line just to make people square off the corner as they should be doing without the "encouragement". It's fun to watch the mid-turn course correcting going on when they realize the barrier.

We get that too. Their siblings are the ones that will stop after they are supposed to and obstruct the proper turn path. I like putting my AutoX training into use and miss their bumper by a couple of inches. The panicked look on their face is priceless

CA drivers aren't exactly revered for their driving - but it seems like it's gotten a LOT worse recently. Two years of work-from-home for a lot of folks appears to have atrophied their already-sh*t driving skills.

I now drive with one thumb on the horn in the 996 to avoid getting wiped out by people distracted by their phones and/or whatever's going on in the back of their 3-row jumbo SUVs...

I lived in the UK for about 5 years when I was in my early 40's. As a non-Commonwealth citizen, I had to pass both the full written and "behind the wheel" driving tests to obtain my UK driver's license. Cutting even slightly across the (after the turn) oncoming traffic's lane was an immediate fail during the driving portion of the test.

I heeded someone's wise counsel and took a 1/2 dozen UK driving lessons before testing. I was quite humbled as to how many bad habits had crept into my driving over 25 or so years. The lessons, and need to test for my UK license, definitely improved my safe daily driving performance.

Oh, yeah, cutting into the oncoming traffic's lane on a turn was one of the first sins highlighted during my first driving lesson.

Shortly after I got my 996 a ginormous jacked-up four wheel drive Ford pulled right in front of me as he turned left on red. My guess is from his altitude he looked over the top of me. I stomped the brakes then went for the horn and got whoa'd up. That was the day I found out that my horns did not function. Next day the car went to the Indi for horn replacements. With a low slung car horns are as valuable as seat belts. However, I truly dislike drivers who use their horn as an expression of anger without proper need.
