On the plus side, maybe this helps the Salton Sea regain some health.

Probably not - the sea gets so much salt dumped in from farming irrigation that it's almost certain to die without serious intervention that CA hasn't been willing to invest in.
The Salton Sea is one of my favorite haunts...

They were down here last weekend for an airshow. I wonder if they bothered to go home to P'cola before heading to Nebraska?
I always enjoy seeing them, but always chuckle to myself thinking about what a PITA it was to be in the hangar next door to them in flight school. When they practiced, it shut the entire airfield down. So, if you were taxiing out to take off, you made damn sure to beat them out to the end of the runway, or else you'd be stuck there for an hour and a half waiting for them to finish before you'd get cleared for takeoff.

Mrs. S. and I lived in Mira Mesa when we first moved to SD; our apartment complex was a mile or two away from the Miramar gate.
We took the Thursday before airshow weekend off from work and spent most of it floating in the pool watching the Blue Angels rehearse. It was epic.

I've always got to settle for the T-Birds. They are the hometown squad so I certainly love to see them but I just know the Blues are where its at.
