Hope everybody is having a good week
Gonna guess the car's owner isn't having a good week...

Man that's gotta suck. If it is that BaT car, that was a hell of a premium the buyer paid too :(

It is absolutely the BaT car. The 997 airbox, aftermarket intake hose, gold BBS. Holy hell. Saw that car in his avatar for a while. Thought I recognized it.

Ahhh... good eye. Just sent Raby a text. He wasn't aware of the auction or connection to "Mr. Deezy", but that's the car!

It died half way to Florida.

Oh lawd, this is going to get gooooooood..... really good!

Not having direct knowledge of either the auction premium nor what Jake charges, but I'm guessing this owner is going to be all in somewhere in the 75-80k neighborhood when all is said and done. A base MkI started at $70k when new...

Drives it in circles to warm it up

He must have read "A Texan's guide to 996 ownership"

Owning a 996 is simple. It's a car. Drive it like a car. Enjoy it. Accept that there are some design flaws that can prove catastrophic no matter what you do. If you can't handle the last part and/or can't afford to write off whatever you paid for it, it's not the car for you.

These people that are literally scared of their cars just boggle my mind. I get that I'm not the average 996 owner in multiple ways, but come on. It's just a car.

I love the threads - "Please tell me this won't happen to me!"

Ok! It won't happen to you.

Dayum, that's low turbo money. My trip out to get my car from Cali and drive it back was the greatest trip ever. Except for one thing, and that was the thought that something like this might happen. Not just because its a 996, but its a car I personally did not set eyes on until I got there.
