I guess the economists are right inflation is getting bad. However, that looks to be an M471 version.

I just read through the thread over on 914world.com. Rare car, but still, over half a million for a 914 is hard to wrap my head around.

There's a guy in the local club who has been hunting for a 914 for the past year or so. His problem is that he wants a fairly perfect example for around $10k. He was looking when I had my blue '75 up for sale last summer, and it wasn't nice enough for him. Fair enough - that car was far from perfect. But, it was rust-free and a very nice driver for well under $20,000 (sold it on BaT for $17k). I'm not sure there are a lot of sub-$20k 914s in that good of condition to be found anymore. And I'm damn sure there's nothing available in the $10k neighborhood that doesn't have significant rust. Let me put it this way, I'd buy that car back in a heartbeat for $17,000 now.
