My only experience with StubHub is when an salesperson of mine lost her mind (literally). She fell in love with some guy who wasn't her husband; I found this out when I saw thousands of dollars' worth of StubHub charges on the corporate Amex (she was buying football tix and sending them to the dude). Later, I came to find out that she had not returned the rental car on her last business trip because she was busy using it to stalk the guy.

After confronting her with the info - on nice letterhead from our attorney - she reimbursed me and "decided to leave the company to spend more time with her family and pursue her hobbies."

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

Her paramour's name was "Hobbies"? That's weird.

StubHub is a good place to buy aftermarket tix, however, may The Force be with you if you ever need customer service.

I know this isn't helpful in hindsight but for the future, whenever possible, buy tickets for an event directly from the venue. It's a great way to not just avoid scalpers but you'll avoid tacked-on fees. Ticketmaster and Stubhub don't want you to know this - but it's part of every venue agreement that the venue is allowed to sell its own tickets to the event it is hosting via the box office. If you can't find a website, somehow, in this day in age, just call the box office during business hours. Ticket vendors will make it look like they're the only official place to buy tickets, which may be true in a digital sense, but I promise you if you're retired and don't mind phone calls the box office will sell you tickets and will-call them for you.

Working in the entertainment industry I can tell you the only people that hate Stubhub more than you is box offices.

Sooo in these days of all electronic/mobile tickets do box offices have the capability to provide this?? I would call the box office for CHI but they don't answer their phone.

If you go in person they'll even validate your parking.

Thanx! Who'da thunk it! Back to the good old days standing in line outside the ticket outlet!

Here's a flashback: Early 70's, northern Chicago suburb shopping center, standing in line for tix for the Rolling Stones. Some toughs show up just before the doors were to open and tried to cut the line. Some dude stood up to them, fists flew and the guy ended up getting tossed through a plate glass window!! Needless to say the crowd dispersed and there were no tix sold at that location that day.

Fun times and no I wasn't the one thrown nor the one doing the throwing. I was the one down the line repeating "Far out MAN!!".

You're welcome. It's an old-school system that is "inconvenient" in the face of online purchases, which is what we're conditioned to do now, but it's a more straightforward system that I also prefer. I was trying to get tickets to see a comedian that were supposed to be $46 but were coming up close to $130 on ticketmaster. I complained to a colleague of mine whom is the director of a few theaters and he said "bro, call the box office." I did and got them for $46+tax.

This system only works if there's a box office with office hours / ticketing hours. Fortunately that still applies to most of them. Good luck!

My go-to is www.ticketsforless.com . Their offices were about a mile from my house until recently. I had a problem one time with tickets (not the agency’s fault), and they went above and beyond to fix it. They also comped me for 4 MLB tickets a few months later.

Not a good day in the 996 forum. Had to put Scooter down. Cancer progressed quickly. Best cat and friend ever.
