Yup. They were in the hangar next to the flight school training squadron (VT-10 & VT-86). At first, you’re all “OMG, the Blue Angels!!!” But after a couple of months of sharing an airfield with them, they just become a PITA. If you are taxiing out for takeoff and they beat you to the runway, you’re stuck sitting there for an hour waiting for them to get done with their practice. It’s still cool, but in an annoying way.

They have a German Acoustical Sound Locator device there, which is a GIANT megaphone designed to search for aircraft in the pre-radar era.

Ah, I forgot about the USS Alabama. I drove past her many times when I lived there, but never once visited. There are probably some other things to do in Mobile as well as there is a lot of history there. I foresee a day trip to Mobile.

Hmmm... We all let the 3rd birthday of this site slip by unnoticed a few days ago. We really are a bunch of uncaring oblivious assholes!

Congrats to all for keeping it going and allowing us to probably be the most under worked mods on the entire Internet. 8-)

What is this "MOD" thing you speak of? Is it like the Mods and the Rockers back in the day?
