Our's was almost 24, but she was healthy up until her last few weeks.

Favorite game of our vet was to take her in the back and have techs and other vet try to guess her age as she looked and acted half her age until the end. He was always to come back and tell us that no one had guessed correctly.

During our first move the wife-of-the-future told me not to let her out of the apartment. Of course I let her out, then we spent a week in an empty apartment waiting for her to come home.

9-10 years later I got a puppy. The cat did not like this puppy. She tried moving out on her own and ended up showing up again over a month later a much different cat (if it weren't for her eyes and a tear in her ear I'd swear it was a different cat). Prior to her walkabout you'd hardly ever see her, she didn't want much attention, and was a picky eater. After returning you couldn't get rid of her and she was worse about table scraps than the dogs (the cat would eat cheetos!). She kept her life long hatred of other cats though which was REALLY fun when we had orange and white decide he was living with us for the last few years of his life.

Just did my 500th + lap at Barber. At Porsche school prices it roughly breaks down to around $30 per lap. I do not want the wife to ever do a cost analysis! I’m still getting traction with the “cheaper than owning a track car” rationale.

This is the neighborhood cat that adopted us. We don't feed him or anything but he still comes around every day to say "hey."

Same math as renting vs. owning a boat... ;)
