I've said for ages that the 996 is a special car because of it's history: First water-cooled 911... first GT3... Last 911 that Ferry Porsche witness to go into production. The car(s) that "saved" Porsche. etc. etc.


Even in spite of the engine issues, it will still bring a special coin eventually, especially the rare versions like the GT2, GT3RS, or '05 Turbo S.

I believe the headlights will ultimately become a plus rather than a negative on the 996 series, especially the Mk I cars with the GT1 headlights. The Mk I aerokit cars are one of the best looking 911s ever made.
