Using both lots. There are gaps in that dividing curb at each end. Wide enough. We had a test AX with only instructors and it works.

Re: AutoX
Saweet! Now your talkin'. That's going to give you a crap ton more room! Just hope some halfwit who doesn't understand throttle modulation doesn't get sideways entering the pass throughs. There's always one.
We were doing fun runs after an event last year and some fool looped it coming to the finish lights even though the previous obstacle was approximately 75-100 feet up course. He slid through the finish destroying one set of lights. Bad thing for him is it was a super windy that day and someone decided it was a good idea to use a 20# bag of flour as ballast to keep the light from blowing over. Besides looking awesome as the flour exploded on impact it surgically removed the sill cover on one side of his fairly new Miata. Ouch!
We had a windy session this year and I inserted two smaller cones through the tripod support legs and no blow overs. Plus it fit with cone usage procedures as they effectively became additional "pointer" cones for the finish line! Win-Win.

Re: AutoX
That would have been fun to see!
We put chicanes at the entrances to both gaps, to slow cars in those areas. However, not nearly as much runoff room as at the old site, so we need to keep newbies under good control.

Actually since we have very few longhorn cattle up here we are required to carry 10 bushels of rice (heh) or wheat (as some here think...)02TX996Cab wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 10:54 am I've herd from *reliable* sources that Nebraska AX will no longer utilize run groups, but instead will adopt thie following "Balance of Performance" method.

Well darn. The plates are Nebraska, as was the news station who posted the video. And I thought soybeans, rather than rice (heh) or wheat, were preferred if cattle were unavailable.32wildbilly wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 11:18 am Actually since we have very few longhorn cattle up here we are required to carry 10 bushels of rice (heh) or wheat (as some here think...)

Re: AutoX
We had a golf cart autocross for disabled and disadvantaged kids at the auto museum on Saturday. The KCRPCA helped the museum put it on with equipment and volunteers. We had racing suits made for the kids so they could take them home. There were a lot of smiles, fun & excitement - and the kids had a great time, too!
We are definitely doing it again next year.
I will try to link to a second video is of me and one of the other guys in the "limo" golf cart (3-rows) running through the course before the event started (and right after a rain).
