Re: AutoX
We have our first Autox with PCA on August 28th. We lost our spot before Covid, so it has been a while. Looking forward to it. I may take the 914 or the X1/9 - not sure which.

Don't know if they still do, but the local BMW chapter used to use the MD State Trooper training facility.FRUNKenstein wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 3:36 pmIronically, the police training facility32wildbilly wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 4:22 pm Where is it going to be since the casino kicked you guys out?

Re: AutoX
Great! Now you just need to add more camber up front to sharpen that turn-in.32wildbilly wrote: ↑Sun Jul 25, 2021 5:31 pm Well I'm friggin' hooked! Today turned out overcast and under 80f. Much less than what was predicted. The new course was big and fast with only two super tight corners which is a struggle for a turbo four door car. Last month I finished 8-10 seconds behind mid pack. With the stickier tires and a more open higher speed course I cut that to around 5 seconds back from mid-pack during the first session which is the only one I ran due to grandkid duty. Each lap got quicker and I didn't hit any cones nor run off the course. I remembered to "partially" turn off VSA and leave in Sport mode which I think also made a big difference.
One part was a slight left uphill with a transition seam at the top from incline to flat after the first exploratory lap I could actually feel the car get light over the top of that as it was full throttle near the top of second gear. I'm sure I didn't get any air, but could definitely feel it.
I have seen many type R's at the DE events I do and they are hella fast.

Re: AutoX
Yeah I've read the CTR forums and know: 19" rims, super sticky tires, sway bar replacement and pulling the pins out of the front suspension to get more camber.
Seriously though with being 71 yo tomorrow I just want to have fun and turn respectable times. Currently with this setup it is capable of much more than I am asking it to do. I'm learning how to drive it(turbo lag and all) so it's fun for now...and yes these things are quick!

Happy birthday! You're an inspiration dude. I hope I both live to your age and am doing the things you're doing; buying cool cars and having fun with them. Much respect.
