Changed the oil. Put a crush washer on this time...I think.
Never gonna make you cry...

Replaced the pass-side window regulator and swapped out the fire-spewing subwoofer with a less flamey one.
Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.
Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

Did get it started on Saturday only to find the needle below the light on the gas gauge. Did make it to the pump and it was indeed a thirsty little bugger. Then I took it out for a not nearly long enough romp.gnat wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 12:32 pm Attempted a post winterization start. I did not succeed
Things better than the last time I let the battery go flat:
1) I could get the alarm to shut up.
2) I could open the frunk (using the cable).
3) The jumper battery attempted to get it to start after having the jumpers to the BMW for 10 minutes to get enough power for the dash to at least light up.
Will have to try again later (probably tomorrow).
I always forget how fun and effortless this car can be when I haven't driven it in a little while.

You have got to get it somewhere to put a battery maintainer on it!

Building a solar powered maintainer that covers the rear area under the rear window has been on my list of things to do for a long time. I just haven't gotten around to learning all the appropriate electrical bits like figuring out how much power I actually need to generate (e.g. how big of a panel I need) and having it not set the car on fire when it get started without disconnecting the charger.
Now that the frunk release is accessible I think I might just get a trickle charger and bring the battery in the house when it doesn't get driven for over a week...

I've been thinking about a DIY tickle charger. Sounds fun.

But don't they already make those? For like $20?

Yeah, those trickle chargers are everywhere...but that's not what I want to make.
