On my way to drop 2 of my recently-repainted wheels back with the wheel guy - he's gonna fix the one I curbed the s**t out of...and he wants to repaint one of the fronts that he wasn't 100% happy with.

Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Gone hunting with Alec Baldwin and Dick Cheney. Back soon.

Not more than six months for the painting, and then a day or two for me to f**k one of them up again...

Big time. If your town/city starts installing “neck-down” intersections in places you’ve been driving for 10+ years, pay attention...

This is a crucially important safety feature for the zero goddamn pedestrians around here...

I helped a guy who left his Turbo S in his garage too long get it started. Which eventually meant taking the battery out of my car and hooking it up to the jump post for the frunk, then his battery. Success! But not before an hour of frustration while I tried to get my battery jumper from Sears to work. Thanks Sears, for making me look like an idiot.

Cool car, although he says he prefers his gigantic M5. Sacrilege!

I bought a jumper battery pack to keep in the 996 since we tend to let it sit enough that the battery will die. When I finally needed to use it I found out the hard way that it won't work on a completely dead battery and the emergency frunk system didn't offer enough resistance or whatever to get past it's internal safety system.

As much as I despise the wife's e90, I wouldn't mind having some M5 goodness. Or better, an e30 with an M5 V8 crammed into it

I'm doing some google research and the fuse or breakers in these seem to go bad. No matter where we hooked it to, we always got the "connect cables" message. His car was parked nose-in so no jumper cable was ever going to be long enough to get to the battery even if we could get the frunk open.

Yeah, the M5 is a beast but its still a sedan. I like to pretend I'm a racecar driver.

I also fixed my bike yesterday, replacing the rear freewheel that pooped ball bearings after only a month of use. I really am getting impressed with myself.

My wheels need refurbishing after I too have been a little too nonchalant making turns. But I'm with you, as soon as I spend money to get these fixed, I know I'm just going to curb them again. I feel like the 928 sidewalls stuck out a little more where I scraped the tire before it got to the wheel most times. Or I could be just older.
