I addressed my window "no drop on entry & exit" which I luckily guessed correctly on my first part I threw at it - window regulator. Someone told me a neat little trick which is to (gently) push down on the top of the window when the door is open - and if it drops down the cm-or-so that it is supposed to drop when the door is open, most likely the regulator is the culprit and not the microswitch & usual suspects.

And so, it was! Now I've got fresh regulators on both sides and can roll my windows up and down with confidence this spring. :D

I have not yet installed it, but I will be attaching this cell phone holder to the underside of the dash below the radio (GT3 console delete) to put the phone just below the radio, just ahead of the shift knob.

It's got a built-in Qi charging pad, so the phone will charge whenever I'm driving. No more USB cables for me!

I know your wonderful gooberment doesn't allow you to mount devices to the window, but could you put the mount on the dash? :?:

That specific mount is intended to go on the dash, but I hate cluttering up my field of view. My current headunit does a great job with BT control and handsfree; the mount is mostly to keep the phone charged (and prevent it from becoming a projectile several times a day)...

I cried a little today....... went to visit a friend and they were doing some construction on the road to his place. there was a 15% grade that had a dip at the crest, and at the base of the dip they cut a channel into the road and then back filled it. The rain compressed the back fill and it left a nasty snag in the road. At night, No signage, No nada. Just a bunch of barrels on the ditch in each side of the road about 200 feet before the hill..... I have another sump plate on the way already, but fuck me, really??? Only plus is now I get to inspect the old sump plate a little sooner to see if there is any metal in the engine from an impending ims bearing failure....

Oof! That... sucks. Glass half-full: a cracked sump plate beats ripped-off bodywork any day of the week. Hope she goes back together without any fuss.

Doc brings the wisdom on this one. Be thankful you didn't nose dive and rip your front bumper off. That would have been crazy expensive to repair. The guy that I deal with at the body shop says a replacement Carrera 996 bumper from Porsche is now pushing $2000 for the base version. You add prep, primer, and paint and that bill could be pushin' $3000. Ouch.

Be thankful my friend! ;)
