Oh and just to clarify - because we are friends you are cutting me a great deal.

Even as you are a good friend that's not nearly enough and this is a high mileage example compared to mine! On the other hand it might not be a track rat as is mine...Dr_Strangelove (whew!) wrote: ↑Tue Jul 26, 2022 10:58 amI'm going to have a cashier's check for $38,500 (because we are friends) and I'm going to offer it to you when you come see Adele
I didn't figure on going with the auto drain for three reasons. #1: I don't track the car #2: It is not a high mileage engine #3: Looks real easy to drain at every oil change, but I might talk to Skip about it. Besides not real comfortable with drilling a hole in the oil fill tube.02TX996Cab wrote: ↑Tue Jul 26, 2022 12:54 pm Install the UAOS (maybe even with the accumulator auto-drain enhancement), then drive it like you stole it -- often.
Note to self: follow the above advice!
Hey! Who said it is still smoking?! Just ignore the faint high pitched whine of air squeezing by the crankshaft seal and you would never know...5chn3ll wrote: ↑Tue Jul 26, 2022 3:40 pm I am happy to swap* my non-smoking factory engine with that smoking mess you have in your 996. Let me know.

Seriously, though - the AOS isn't a huge deal...certainly not one that warrants dumping the 996.
But I'll give you $10K for it. CASH MONEYS.
I am conflicted between giving you decent advice and trying to swindle you out of your car.
