This is your invitation to join FRUNKenstein and myself at The Car Affair on the rooftop of The Underground in Kansas City, Missouri, April 27, 2024.
The event is sure to be a night to remember filled with rare and conversation-worthy automobiles; not to mention it will be a uniquely special evening to a small group of attendees as it now also serves as an official gathering of 996Outpost.com members! I will be flying to Kansas City for the weekend to visit my pen pal Frunky as well as attend the event.
Last fall I had the pleasure of joining Frunk and his lovely wife for a cocktail in my fair city of Las Vegas and I found it delightful how two gents that had, up until that point, only known each other via posting messages directly and indirectly to each other on a bulletin board could sit down like friends that had known each other a while and strike up a conversation. In that conversation he had invited me to Kansas City to check out the museum that he often posts about as well as their new facility; The Underground. I warned him I was the sort that would accept such an invitation; and here I come!
As hilarious and fun as we both can be, I’ve no doubt we will entertain each other all weekend; nonetheless we’d love it if another person or better yet; persons could attend the event with us.
I work for a hotel in Las Vegas and therefore am able to get employee rates (think $70/night,) at IHG properties, so if somebody is willing to commit very soon I am willing to book a room for you in my name. It only requires me being the person checking in and you being the person paying me back. Availability of this rate dwindles as time passes so that is why I am stressing urgency as there seemed to be plenty as of this writing.
I’ll be staying at the Hotel Indigo at The Crossroads.
This second life for 996Outpost.com is a great opportunity for folks to connect and share a very specific and nuanced passion that very few share; and with the site getting a second chance I thought; here’s a great opportunity to likewise get out of my shell and connect with some great people.
