open hatch dash light stays on

Ok... basically, I shut the frunk and rear hatch and the light on my dash stays on. I've cleaned the locks with CRC Electronic Cleaner, but unfortunately, the light still stays on. It was impossible to see the solenoid for the locking mechanism, but do you have any advice to fix this problem aside from replacing the locks? The locks work fine to open and lock the frunk and hatch. It's that darn red light that's annoying!

Electrical tape?

Remember that e30 I mentioned? Took apart the dash to replace "burned out" bulbs in the cluster only to find the numbnuts PO had gone to the trouble to remove the cluster so they could put electrical tape over the offending bulbs rather than fix the issue(s) causing the lights

Are you suggesting that would be abnormal for b3?

Yo b3 is this still going on? At risk of turning this into a technical forum it looks like you'll have to uninstall and inspect part #9: Microswitch and see if it needs to be cleaned or rebuilt if you don't want to buy a new part.

In other news I see Ahsai is here so maybe I better shut it and wait for him to actually help you. :P

Thank you my friend.... but but but... I see no part number 9. It points to nowhere. Wow, is this like the bridge to nowhere? Or, a Porsche jedi mind trick? All I see is a line pointed down to horse character. ha!

Oh, weird! It displays fine for me. Therefore I blame anyone who is not me! Here's a new pic from a new source and I highlighted it for you. This way we will not know which troubleshooting step actually fixed this. I want to avoid being useful to Schnell :P

Ahhh... thank you my friend. If it was a snake it would have bit me! Now, the next question... how can I get to it easily to check? Maybe easy is not the right word to use when you're talking about Porsches? :D
