Craigslist, ebay, Amazon and other online finds
OK, post 'em up here - anything interesting that you find that you think a fellow 996tt guy might be interested in. Sure, 996tt vehicles are the obvious choice, but it can be anything for sale that you think somebody might find interesting - parts, memorabilia, literature, etc.
Have fun with this - if it's something that catches your eye, then somebody else will probably be glad you posted it.
Oh, and one other very important thing, be sure to copy content into the thread IN ADDITION TO posting a link to the item, because almost always the linked content (e.g. - a craigslist ad) will disappear after a few days and no one will see the item that you were referring to.

That's a nice result, especially for a Tippy. Normally the German stuff doesn't fare that well at Mecum, either.

Well I have it on good authority that such mileage classifies as ragged out track garbage. So $19k might be a tad high actually...kcattorney wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2018 8:15 pm Gotta be a scam, asking $19,000. 2001 996tt coupe, black on black, 6 speed, 81k miles.

Re: Craigslist, ebay, Amazon and other online finds
Saw this posted in the Craigslist thread on that other forum. I figure it's OK to post stuff from that thread, since, you know, I started it too.
https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/ ... 79850.html
The good news: $26,500 asking price for a 2002 996TT in Seattle. Appears to be in decent shape. Arctic silver over METROPOL blue (rare & cool interior color). Aluminum look gauge faces ("white" to the uninitiated). Aluminum e-brake handle. Here's a list of the options:
WP0AB29942S686479
996 420
L92U ARKTISILVER
EX Metropol blue full leather
C02 USA
XKE Arctic Silver side air vents
XKW Arctic Silver center nozzle bracket
XKX Arctic Silver instrument surround
XNY Arctic Silver dashboard trim strip
XTF Arctic Silver door panel parts
XJ4 Leather covered ignition lock surround
XV1 Leather defroster trim
X46 Aluminium Tiptronic selector lever
X70 Stainless steel door entry guards with logo
X71 Alu-look instrument faces
X98 Handbrake lever with aluminium inlay
139 Seat heating, left (inop)
249 Tiptronic transmission, 5-speed
340 Seat heating, right
09991 Porsche Exclusive Option
The bad news: Tiptronic transmission. 172,000 miles.
Although, if you're looking for a tippy and don't mind high miles, this is probably a great deal. 172k miles, you'd better plan on needing an engine rebuild in another 250,000 or 300,000 miles from now.

Re: Craigslist, ebay, Amazon and other online finds
This one was just posted over on Rennlist (dammit) in the 996TT forum:
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-turbo-f ... today.html
Here's the Tulsa, OK craigslist ad on it:
https://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/6589832559.html
Note from the PPI (which seems pretty detailed) that there is a long list of items, but frankly they are all very minor. For right at $1,000 and about a day of DIY work, you could correct all of those things. Here's my posting on Rennlist (dammit) on my calculations for repairing these things:
So, to add it up, figure:
$200 for Kevin's hydraulic spoiler repair parts (I think - I could be wrong, but I think that's about the cost)
$100 for front brake pads
$160 for front brake rotors
$20 for brake fluid for the bleed
$40 for genuine Porsche rubber bump stop
$130 for clutch accumulator
$400 for a set of rear HTR ZIII's
He's asking $37,000 for it "as is". It is a 71k miles 6-speed. I'll bet he'd sell it "as is" for $35,000. That would be a helluva deal for someone to get a very nice car that just needs some normal maintenance taken care of. If you buy it, swing by KC on the drive home and I'll buy you some BBQ and beer after a tour of the museum.
