I still use this dinosaur for round 1 of every diagnosis...
Understeer: You will hit the wall with the front end.
Oversteer: You will hit the wall with the rear end.
Horsepower: How hard you will hit the wall.
Torque: How far you will move the wall.

Mac tools recently came out with their RBRT lineup. It stands for Rounded Bolt Removal Technology. If you're familiar with Snap On's flank drive design, it's a similar concept except for internal drive fastners like torx and hex/socket heads. I figured I'd give it a try and ordered the 8mm hex rbrt. You would use it to remove rounded out socket heads, or use it on intact fasteners to prevent rounding them out. I figured with so many "I stripped my drain plug threads" that this might come in handy for someone.

That's the reason no one pulls the drain plugs on the turbos during a 996TT oil change. There are a total of 4 drain plugs (sump, oil reservoir and one on each turbo). Everybody is afraid to strip the allen bolt heads on the turbo drains. Plus, there's only a few ounces of oil in there anyway. It's more a question of what is NOT in the tool bag. I am a sucker for The Tool of the Week. From reading other Porsche forums, I've been compelled to acquire certain tools that were must-haves.
Gotta have a bolt extractor set - metric and fractional: I read somewhere that if I ever get into the doors, I could need a set of Triple-Square sockets: ...and also a filter cutter for the post-oil-change paranoia check, and a double jointed long handled ratchet should the starter have an issue.... ...and it goes on. Various gear / pulley puller tools, a pair of channel locks that one could use to unbolt the propeller off a Navy destroyer...etc
So, Frunk...before you buy or rent any specialized tools....call me.

My place here is more like a tool warehouse, and I still never have the tool I need... last night I really could have used a 1-1/8 or 1-3/16 open end wrench to turn a camshaft. I have a 1-1/16 and a 1-1/4 and nothing in between.
