That's what I did. I came back to the house and noticed the car's fan noise seem to be coming one side of the car. The car was running at normal temps and the AC was on, but only the passenger side fan was running. ;)

Ah, missed that part. Doh.

The fan relays are the same, so swap them left to right (or whatever) and see if the fan that was not working is now working, then you know. If not the fuse or relay, then probably the resistor. Gets hot in Florida, so my fans run most of the time with the AC on. Came in for a landing at a junk yard with a dirt lot, fans running on high and the engine bay fan running....it looked like a hover craft coming in for a landing in a dirt field! Seriously blew dust/dirt in every direction.

Checked both fuses and they’re fine. Tomorrow, checking the relays and then onto the resistors.

Was spending most of the day washing family cars and installing my new Escort Redline hardwired kit in the 996. Took my wife in the 996 for lunch and after we returned, both fans were blowing. :?: I'm like.. huh?... Weird. And so I turned off the car and let it sit for a while. Came back out and started it with the AC on full force. Again, the passenger side was blowing, but not the the driver side fan. ((confusing)) Then all of a sudden the fans kicked into high speed and the driver side fan came on. Bing! This may mean that Stage 1 Relay is bad? If the resistor on the driver side fan was malfunctioning, then it wouldn't come on at all, correct? And so, based on this information... the Fan is working and the stage 2 relay is functioning properly, but the stage 1 relay will need to be replace.

What do you think? Thank you all for your help!!!

Keep it simple man... Swap the relay from the known working fan, to the fan that's not working on stage 1. If you swap it and the other fan starts function properly then your relay is shot, slap a new one in and keep rolling...... if not then it's time to start checking the low speed fan circuit for open to B+ or a possible open to ground on the relay circuit

Thanks buddy for the advice... I'm pretty sure I'm close to a solution.

Cheers!

Dr_Strangelove (whew!) wrote: Tue Apr 10, 2018 10:33 pm I looked up if this is normal or not and apparently if the AC is running, both fans should be running. If only one is running you may need to replace the resistor on that fan. Folks report on the internet they are prone to breaking in certain weather conditions. The part number is: 99661610100.

Good luck, bud. Shouldn't be a big deal - you seem handy with electric work.
And the metal goes to Dr. Strangelove! It was the resistor!

Swapped the relay and it still had the problem of the fan not coming on at low speeds. Swapped out the resistor with a new one and shabaammm, it worked like a charm!

Thank you all for leading me to the solution!
