Re: 02 Roller Landed in My Lap!
Replaced my lower rear Tract Rods (aka Toe Control) and discovered a cracked bushing. Unseen unless you remove them.
I wonder how many others are driving around like this?

It is early but the track projection appears to be curving a little more towards the WSW rather than due West!

Re: 02 Roller Landed in My Lap!
It was always fun parting out 356's when they were rusted beyond repair. Of course those parts are worth more than jewelry and there was great fun and profit. Those were the days.....(Edith and Archie singing in background)
Would be fun to part out a 996 - Just taking your time, organizing them and do some ebay/forum sales - I'd guestimate close to $12K in parts sales - Hell the engine alone should fetch $2-3K for all the usable parts?
Lots of work but fun stuff

Re: 02 Roller Landed in My Lap!
Picked up the motor and pulled the flywheel to see this...I had already planned on replacing the IMSB and RMS.
My question is how does one determine if it's a non servicable bearing? Motor is an AT built in 05. 22mm nut.

Big nut = big pain in the ass
You gotta crack the case to do it right. There is an option out there to drill it out, but that just seems like a horrible idea to me (you going to bet that motor against being damn sure no debris gets left in the oil area?).

That's what I thought, I'll just have to pull the flange and pop off the oil seal and have a look. I sure hope the RMS is the source of oil and not the IMSB flange.
